TD’s good buddy (and Irish caddy) James Lacey, lost his battle with cancer on Friday last. James was a good friend, always with his effecting smile in permanent residence. He’s pictured here with some other guy who is also a member at Carne in northwestern Ireland where many Americans (including the TD) go and play in summer. James is survived by his wife Ashling and son Hugo. He’s now carrying clubs at a higher level.

James was integral in TD's monumental (as well as somewhat suspect) Stableford win at the 2024 Carne International Members Tournament. James would say "Where ya aimin'?" TD would say "Up there on the right." James: "Where on the right?" TD: "Right side of the green." James: "Where on the right side?" TD: "The brown spot." James: "Where at on the brown spot?" TD: "right side of the brown spot." James: "Where at on the right side of the brown spot?"...finally concluding with James saying "Good, you know it's going to kick to the left anyway." TD hopes you get the drift. James was definitely an "aim small - miss small" kind of caddy. He was just one of those guys with whom TD wishes he'd had a 20 years friendship instead of 3-4.
