BEATLEMANIA!

Obviously, no trip to the Liverpool area would be complete without a “Beatles Tour”. It just so happens that, this past week, TD was availed to not one, but two Beatles Tours as brother Ben and fiance’ Shelley came over to Liverpool on a pilgrimage. This was TD’s “third” Beatles Tour as, when he was in Liverpool in 2022 (or 2023, he can’t remember) he also went around town in a yellow, painted Rolls Royce to knock on the doors of the “boys from Liverpool” who changed music…and the world.

The town thrives on Beatles Tourism with many, many, many
Opportunities to “touch and feel” real Beatles “stuff”, see all their boyhood homes and hear family histories. Fortunately for the TD, three is the maximum number of Liverpudlian Beatles Tours allowed in a lifetime. If he could remember details, he would be giving Beatles Tours himself. But, as in most undertadings in his life, TD only remembers bits and pieces…or is it pieces and bits.?. Above, TD, Randy and Timmy rest their Beatles derrieres on chairs where the derrieres of George Harrison’s parents were once (or many times) positioned. This occurrence took place just before a “shake-down” for a suggested “tenner” to be left on the bar if anyone wanted to use the toilet. Hmmm.

However, this was a first (within the three episodic Beatles experiences by the TD), as there was nothing taking place in the (working) church hall (St. Peter’s) where Lennon and McCartney played their first gig together. TD truly felt this be hallowed ground. The Hall is positioned directly across the street from the church graveyard where Eleanor Rigby is buried; no doubt making this a “Beatle Mecca”.

NOW, WE BEGIN THE 8 HOUR DRIVE TO SCOTLAND. STAY TUNED!
