Duffer Update

THE TRAVELING DUFFER KEEPS ON "DUFFING" TOWARD 2026 with E-Commerce

Now in its sixth year, the Traveling Duffer (TD) website and blog, once again reinvents itself as not only a historical account of years of hope for the aging, but also as a site where like-minded old (and maybe even a few young) people can learn not only about quality links golf offerings, but also experience new signs of toward life lessons...or something like that.

TD started posting just after a trip to The Presidents Cup in Melbourne, Australia in 2019.  Covid was knocking at The World's door and Australia was on fire.  Yet, the TD felt there was a brighter story to be told.  Now, some 200 blog posts and (maybe) tens of thousands of view later, the TD site is taking on a new look, a new angle, a new life, as everyone needs to reinvent themselves to allay stagnation...and possible deportation.

Going forward, you'll be able to wear the TD close to your head and heart with a significant array of apparel, travel suggestions, hacks, facks and quacks in a medium which only an aging duffer can conjure.

TD began his golf travel experiences in the late 1980's with a group of already aging golfers, many who have gone to that great driving range in the sky.  He prided himself as someone who could hang these serious duffers while maintaining his youthful stature in the group.  Today, he is one of the older statesmen of a group which, even with substantial attrition, has grown to nearly 50 golfers.  That's how popular duffing actually is.

Perpetuating an image built out of the right to play  mediocre golf in significant locations around the world seems to be  the ongoing  charge of The Traveling Duffer.  Age and mediocrity, levity and now increasing brevity, are all soldiers in a battle being fought within a very tough sport and playing thousands of rounds with hundreds of new and old friends is the true gift of a full (golfing) life.
